Bengali Association Dombivli known as Bengali Association, Thakurli - Dombivli and registered under Public Trust, 1950, F/877/Thane .1982 & also registered under society act, 1860, MAH /957/Thane, 1982.
The office is situated at G1, Ground floor, Jai Satyam Society, Shiv Mandir Road, Dombivli (East) Bengali Association Thakurli Dombivli (BATD) organize social & cultural activities among Bengalis residing in Dombivli & adjoining Thakurli areas to promote exchange with other communities with the following objectives.
  • To organize social & family gathering
  • To organize religious festivals.
  • To organize an educational institution (Refer in school section) to educate & promote education
  • To organize annual sports, indoor & outdoor games, picnic etc.
  • To give facility to members to read Bengali novels, periodicals etc.

President Message

The Bengali Association, Thakurli - Dombivli was formed in the year 1973, by a small number of enthusiastic young members. Slowly and steadily it grew up in stature and in the course of time its activities reached to a new height.

In order to achieve a smooth sailing of the association in future years the executive body thought it is wise to prepare a constitution for guidance and lay down rules, bye-laws, power, right and privileges etc. of and for the members and the governing body. This assigned duly register after completion and adoption by the members present in the annual general body meeting.

A uniqueness of our Indian society lies in our ability to exchange and assimilate any other culture. As par our Bengali culture goes, Bengali Association, Thakurli – Dombivli has taken this honorable service in its own responsible hands for Mumbai.

In the past few years Bengali Association has achieved a number of goals. The Vidyasagar English School at Nandivali is one of the same, which is fully recognized by the government of Maharashtra.

This school was established by the Bengali association in the year 1988. And the first S.S.C batch was appeared in the year 1999. Whole school bldg project not yet completed.

General Secreatary Message

The Trust has completed its 67 years of Durga Puja Celebrations, after successful completion of our celebration over the long period we have reached to the 68th Year. I welcome you all to the 68th year of the celebration of our BATD. Hope resides eternal in the heart of the individual.

From the sadness of last year's Bishorjan, imbued with the strength of Ma Durga's blessings, we have all traversed our individual paths to again seek solace and blessings at her feet. It is with hope that we pray to invoke Ma's blessings.

In the past few years BATD has achieved a number of goals. The Vidyasagar English School at Nandivali is one of the same, which is fully recognized by the government of Maharashtra.

Vidyasagar English School managed by BATD established in the year 1988 in the month of June.The school is situated in our own land of 1860 sq. yard at Nandivli Tekri, Nandivli Road, Dombivli (East). Our school is recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra .The first batch of SSC students appeared for SSC examination in the year 1999.

It is with this hope that the new committee and I have set for ourselves the following objectives:

  • > Completion of the School Building.
  • > Raising the membership numbers.
  • > Securing wider

My sincere thanks to our sponsors, advertisers donors, the BATD management, volunteers, the members and to all those who have contributed to make these celebrations possible.

On this occasion I also remember with reverence of all our seniors departed members who have made a great contribution to the Society. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the members of the committee and extend sincere gratitude to all the patrons, advertisers and sponsors. My thanks to those who although are not holding any organizational post in the committee but have shown interest in steering our activities.
